 Crain's Chicago Business magazine came out with its list of the 35 largest law firms in Chicago in its September 29 issue (counting Chicago-based lawyers only). Topping the list were:
Mayer Brown 507 lawyers
Sidley Austin 467 lawerys (my alma mater)
Kirkland & Ellis 435 lawyers
Winston & Strawn 396 lawyers
Jenner & Block 323 lawyers
Of course, the magazine publishes the list as a vehicle to wrap ads around. Taking the bait were:
- Lord Bissell -- junior page in color
- Sonnenschein -- junior page in color
- Baker & McKenzie -- full page in color
- Barnes & Thornburg -- full page in color
- Quarles & Brady -- half page, 2 color
- Holland & Knight -- 1/4 page, color
- Seyfarth & Shaw -- full page, 2 color
- Freeborn & Peters -- 1/4 page in color
So, I guess the bait worked!
