Preston | Gates | Ellis, a 400-attorney California firm with nine offices worldwide, opened a 10th office in Orange County, California, and sent out a high-tech video postcard to announce it. You can see it by clicking on http://www.prestongates.com/elerts/OCTOUR.html
Earlier this year, Preston Gates moved to a beautiful new space in Irvine, and the firm decided to share it via the Web. Sending the invitation out by email, the firm invited clients and friends to take a virtual tour. The 1 minute, 45-second tour requires Flash Player version 6.0 or higher installed on your computer, but the tour will detect if you need to download it.
Managing Partner Kathleen Peterson provides the voice-over with a snappy rock tune playing in the background. The tour describes clients the firm represents, including Microsoft, CALPERS and BP Amoco, summarizes the practice areas housed in the office, and lists service organizations for whom firm employees do volunteer work. The tour concludes with map to the office, a link to the firm Web site and an email link to set up an appointment to come to the new office. The tour was created by www.optionaldesigngroup.com.
As opposed to hosting a boring reception to open the office, the firm dazzled its clients with a great use of sound and pictures. This is law firm marketing at its finest.
